Pope Francis met with Moscow’s ambassador to the Vatican on Friday at the Russian embassy to express his concerns about the invasion of Ukraine.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni told CNN that the pope went to express his “concern about the war” in Ukraine and met with the ambassador for more than an hour and a half.
The visit is considered to be an unusual occurrence and is not in accordance with normal protocols.
