“We choose the future” / Basha Democrats arrive in front of the Palace of Congresses with banners in their hands

With a surprise bonderola for the National Assembly where it is written: “We choose the future”, the Democrats have chosen to express their support on this hot day for the Democratic Party.

The focus of the Democrats in this Assembly will be in three key directions, according to the agenda published at noon on December 17, by the DP.

In addition to deciding on the situation of the DP, also taking measures “to protect the interests of the DP”, not allowing “problems or personal interests of each member to harm the electoral and political interests of the DP.”

The approval of the Political Action for the future of this party will be the second on the agenda of the Assembly.

The civic platform for democracy, “for the restoration of legitimacy and democracy in the country” will also be announced.

Developments within the DP were strained after the US designated former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his family as unsuitable to visit due to significant corruption and damage to democracy by him and his allies.

Although Berisha stated that he resigned and withdrew from politics after losing the elections in 2013, Basha included him in the list of deputies in the 2017 elections and in the list of deputies this year, but decided to expel him from the parliamentary group after declares non grata from USA.

This expulsion from the group strained relations between them, although Mr. Berisha stated that he would personally defend himself before a French court against the US determination for corruption.
