It is no longer a time for doubt, today is the time for action, says former Democratic leader Sali Berisha, a day after the National Assembly was convened, convened by him.
“It has been difficult and difficult for the Democratic Party lately“, Writes Berisha in a post on the social network” Facebook “, referring to the political battle with the leader of the Democrats, Basha, whom he dismissed in yesterday’s assembly.
“All of us together, delegates and militants gave the most dignified, beautiful and magnificent answer yesterday through the historic meeting of the National Assembly of the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party convened by the Delegates“, Writes the former prime minister.
According to him, “today is no longer the time of doubt, it is the time of action”.
He invites anyone who will join the Democracy Party “to continue the battle against the evil that has gripped our beloved Albania“, He writes. According to Berisha, the government led by Edi Rama has destroyed Albania, while it has also used Lulzim Basha, who has supported him, betraying the Democrats.
The Assembly dismissed by secret ballot the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha on the proposal of 7 deputies and 15 percent of delegates. He was fired for serious violations of the statute and damaging its political and electoral interests. But not only. The National Assembly of December 11, convened by one party, dismissed the entire leadership of the party and removed its Presidency from office with the argument that they were not elected in accordance with the statute.
The decision of the Assembly to dismiss Lulzim Basha will be passed for voting on the basis of December 18, the day when Basha holds the National Assembly.
All decisions of the December 11 National Assembly, including changes to the statute, will go to court, where the legal battle is expected to begin if the court itself accepts it, as long as there is a statute deposited with the party logo and seal. .
For this whole process, the Assembly has also approved a Re-establishment Commission of 29 members that is expected to take over the leadership of the party until March 22, 2022, when a new Assembly will be convened. How the work of this commission will continue from December 11 onwards and in what premises remains unclear.
