About 500 couples whose weddings were canceled due to the pandemic attended a symbolic wedding ceremony at Lincoln Center in New York.
An imam, a rabbi and a pastor symbolically crowned their marriage.
“The wedding was delayed a year for us because of the pandemic. we actually got engaged here at Lincoln Center. And so this is a very special place for us. And it’s a place where we spend a lot of time”, said the bride.
The mayor of New York, present at the ceremony, said that despite everything, New York is invincible.
“Nothing can ever destroy our spirit. Nothing can ever destroy our love for each other and nothing will ever be able to destroy the love you have for the person you have decided to spend your life with.” he said.
New York has been one of the places most affected by covid in the USA, during these years of the pandemic.
