The military base in western Ukraine in Lviv was bombed this morning.
Local officials said the rockets hit the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in the town of Yavoriv, about 10 km from the Polish border and 60 km from Lviv city center.
The base covers an area of about 390 square kilometers and can accommodate up to 1790 people, although it is not known how many people were on site.
It is commonly used for training by the Ukrainian military and its NATO partners, primarily as part of the Partnership for Peace, a program that aims to improve cooperation between non-NATO members and non-NATO members.
Footage from early February shows US military instructors taking part in training with members of the Ukrainian service.
Lviv’s position in western Ukraine has made the city a key hub for the supply of humanitarian and military aid by NATO and one of the humanitarian corridors.
