Alush Hyseni is one of the few farmers who grows tomatoes in greenhouses in the village of Frakull e Vogël. It has an area of one hectare planted mainly with tomatoes and cucumbers.
Although it is the third year that the family is dedicated to the production of tomatoes in greenhouses, he is unhappy with the selling price. The cost of production is high, as for 15 thousand tomato seedlings and 3 thousand cucumber seedlings has invested 460 thousand new lek, while pesticides and fuel cost 400 thousand new lek, not counting labor.
Meanwhile, the price of tomatoes is only 80 lek per kg at the beginning of the season and 15 lek at the end of it.
According to the farmer, this situation is also created due to the covid pandemic 19. He demands from the state the standardization of prices and the determination of markets for the sale of agricultural products.
