In addition to the jersey, which according to information should bring about 340 million euros in five years, Spotify is expected to temporarily buy the so-called Camp Nou stadium title rights, which for the first time in 65 years of history, may have a sponsor as part of his name; in Barcelona there is talk of a possible stadium “Camp Nou Spotify”.
If the negotiations were to end, it would be an important agreement in many respects, starting with the entry into football of one of the major technology companies, something which has happened very rarely so far.
Spotify, however, is a European company, founded in Sweden in 2006 and has always been keen to emphasize this. It is no coincidence that its founder, Daniel Ek, tried for a long time to buy Arsenal from American billionaire Stan Kroenke, taking advantage of the dissatisfaction of fans and including in his efforts former famous players like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
It is also a period in which some of the continent’s major tech companies have begun to emerge in the world of football and sports in general, such as the German TeamViwer, which has become the new sponsor since the current Manchester United jersey season. .

But the deal between Spotify and Barcelona could be a crucial deal especially for the Spanish club, which is battling the worst economic crisis in its recent history.
The annual balance sheet closed with a loss of 481 million euros and a debt of 1 billion 350 million euros. However, Barcelona is continuing to maintain its popularity, which although marks one of the worst years, has contributed to the realization of 631 million euros in revenue.
The current company, led by Joan Laporta, a former president from 2002 to 2010, blames the current crisis on the club’s former executives, and in particular former president Jordi Bartomeu, who was recently denounced for “serious financial wrongdoing”. which were found in the period between 2015 and 2020.
At the sports level the team has shrunk.
