Jamala won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with the song “1944” which referred to the war in Ukraine and now she is forced to try it herself.
In an interview for “Albania Live”, Jamala said that she moved to Turkey with her 2 children, while her husband stayed in Ukraine to provide assistance to citizens.
Among other things, Jamala said she is scared and will use her voice to show everything Russian forces are causing.
“I have only moved to Turkey a week ago, we woke up to the noise of the explosions and we waited 5 days to have the opportunity to leave. I am with the children while my husband is in Ukraine. He stood to protect our home, our country, our family and does volunteer work, helping people cross the border.
He is not in Kiev, I can not say where he stands that can be dangerous. I’m concerned about all the colleagues who are in a bunker being guarded. “I will use my voice to show the bloodshed that Vladimir Putin is causing.” said Jamala.
