The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka has published the images of the exodus of Albanians to Italy that took place 30 years ago.
In the video published by the minister, there are also the testimonies of some of the Albanians who emigrated in the 90s and today in Italy have reaped success.
Xhaçka emphasizes that what has not changed is the feeling of gratitude for Italy that opened its doors in the hour of despair.
‘These images that shook the whole world are firmly ingrained in the memory of all who lived them. Much has changed since then. Albania is not what it was 30 years ago. The Albanian community in Italy today is a success story. “But what has not changed is the sense of gratitude for Italy and the Italian people who opened the door to our hour of despair.” writes Xhaçka.
