A small yacht with Italian tourists sank this morning near the shores of Zvërnec in Vlora.
The cause was the collision of the yacht with underwater rocks, about 70 meters from the sea shore. On board were 4 tourists from Pavia, Italy, among them a child, who managed to reach the shore thankfully without any problems.
One of the tourists said that they had left Slovenia and everything happened around 4:30 in the morning.
“We left Slovenia and crossed all of Croatia, we passed 600 islands in Croatia and Montenegro. In Vlora, like all boat owners, I used a program that shows the height of the boat with the water base and gives signals to everything that is under the sea. Unfortunately, the boat did not signal any rock and as a result we hit the reef. I panic. The yacht sank for two minutes“, He says.
Tourists from Pavia blame the lack of signaling from the Albanian authorities and thank the citizens who came to their aid.
“It is a problem with the announcements that the Albanian state must make for the underwater part. If we make a mistake we are punished, so the state should be penalized for not reporting. Border police and the Guardia arrived immediately. We thank the Albanian people who helped us, gave us food, welcomed us and did not take any money from us.”.
