Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told European Union leaders on Friday that the bloc’s latest package of sanctions against Russia was insufficient.
“I would like to thank the whole world, the EU, Ursula von der Leyen personally, for the 5th package of sanctions, but I think that is not enough“, He said during the meeting in Kiev with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the chief diplomat Josep Borrell.
He argued that the measures were insignificant, compared to the terror that Russia is carrying out in Ukraine.
“Please continue to help us with the sanctions“, He added.
The fifth round of EU sanctions was adopted this week and includes a ban on Russian coal imports as well as blocking Russian entry into EU ports.
Borrell pledged another 500m euros in military aid to Ukraine.
