Prime Minister Edi Rama met with representatives of guesthouses in Lezha, where he spoke about the action plan of the Socialist Party for the coming years in case he will receive a third term.
Rama explained that they will zero the tax for all those who earn income up to 400 thousand ALL, saying that they have not yet decided whether they will realize it in 2022 or 2023.
Rama: For us it is not a typical election campaign. It is a match we will make until the end. We are and will be in government, despite what they say. We have both the stone and the nut, and the stone to say “yes”, but also the nut to put it forward. So, therefore we do not have an electoral program, but an action plan of what we will do.
Among them, we will do everything that is planned. People think that in the campaign, politicians cheat and lie, but this is not true. There are many, true but there are others who do. Not all that is done is done at the time it is promised that then life is what happens, while we have made other plans.
Earthquakes change the situation, floods change the situation, pandemics change the situation and you are forced to modify your plans. It is not that you lied and cheated and told the horse “where did I see you”. Therefore they do not say in vain that the campaign is poetry, governance is prose. But we are not in a position to form a government and we have to share our prose with people.
We are still debating a measure and in a few days we should publish it, but we still do not know whether to write that we will do it in 2022 or 2023. The measure to zero the tax not up to 300 thousand ALL, but up to 400 thousand ALL. So whoever earns 400 thousand ALL, does not pay income tax, which actually puts within 67% of all employees in Albania without payroll tax.
