A former high school student who had an intimate relationship with his physical education teacher when he was 18, after drinking wine, rum and beer on prom night, now says he regrets that her teaching license is being revoked. .
Melissa Tweedie is accused of celebrating with students at a nightclub in GlasgowScotland, before going with them to a hotel in June 2017, when she was 23 years old.
Heather Prentice, vol. School principal Gleniffer said she was concerned about Miss Tweedie’s dress since the evening kicked off.
The former physical education teacher reportedly started dancing inappropriately with the students and then spent the night with one of them, who was 18 at the time.
The former student, now known only as Student A, testified today about the allegations made against Ms Tweedie, telling the Scottish Teachers’ Council that she was sorry she was being investigated.
“I had finished school. “It was not a student evening for me, something like this could happen to me every night I went out to have fun,” he said.
Student A said he drank three or four beers, rum and other beverages, before having sex with Miss Tweedie in his hotel room.
He says Tweedie, who now lives in Dubai where she works as a yoga teacher, had stayed in his room before leaving at 8.00am the next morning.
At the hearing it was said that the physical education teacher did not prefer to take advice from the staff and had gone to stay with the students.
Student A said in the session: “We had no other connections before the evening. Miss Tweedie sat at our table but was not drinking. I yes”.
In the evening the students had booked rooms at the Premier Inn Hotel a few minutes walk from the bar.
Student A said: “I did not invite Miss Tweedie to the hotel. I do not know how he got there. At the hotel I went to another room and there I found the physical education teacher with some other students. After a noise complaint, only Ms. Tweedie and I remained in the room. We kissed, none of us started. “We went downstairs and had sex in my room. She stayed there and we both left the next morning at eight o’clock.”
Zv. The school principal said at the hearing: “Her evening dress was very loose, short and open. She did not look like a teacher but like someone who was going out for the weekend. She danced only with male students. “When it came time to leave we teachers had our transport but Tweedie was nowhere to be seen.”
Scottish police have been notified of the incident and have ruled that there is no room for criminal investigation.
The disciplinary session of the teacher board continues.
