The father of a 19-year-old who passed the siege of the royal castle Windsor, armed with a bow and arrow to kill the British monarch, told the British media today that “something went wrong” with his son.
In some scary pictures posted on the network, the masked young man threatened to “kill the queen” a few minutes before being surrounded by police, on Christmas Day on December 25.
19-year-old, Jaswant Singh Chail, has already been banned under mental health law after seeking revenge for the “colonial massacres of the British Empire in India”.
His father, Jasbir Singh Chail, told the network MailOnline“Something went wrong with our son and I’m trying to figure out what happened.”
“We have not yet had the chance to talk to him, we are trying to give him the help he needs. “We are trying to solve this but it will not be easy.”
Jasbir’s son had sent his friends the scary footage where he was seen armed with a bow, 24 minutes before he was caught by officers.
It was only 500 meters from the queen’s private apartments in the castle.
Chail was arrested after crossing the barbed wire wall with a ladder rope.
In the video he also holds a black gun in his hand and speaks to the camera with a changed voice, while on his head he is masked with a hood.
His disguise seems to be inspired by the famous ‘Star Wars’ series – and in his words references are made to the space mythology series.
The Indian-British says: “I’m sorry for what I did and will do. I will kill Elizabeth, the queen of the royal family.
“This is a revenge for the dead of the Jallianvala Bag massacre in 1919,” he said, referring to the gruesome event when the British colonial army killed more than 500 protesters in India.
“It’s also a revenge for those who have been killed, shamed and discriminated against by Britain because of their race.”
“I am a Sikh Hindu, I am a Sith. My name is Jaswant Singh Chail, but my name is also Darth Jones. ”
In the serial Star Wars, the Sith are the enemies of the Jedi Knights and worship the dark side of “Force”.
The Jallianwala Bagh or Amritsar massacre took place in India during the colonial era when the army killed about 500 protesters and wounded more than 1,000.
The suspect further added that he did not believe he would survive the attack on the queen.
In messages near the video, he wrote: “I feel sorry for those with whom I did not get along well. If you see this it means that my death is near. “Distribute this or give news if possible.”
It is not clear how the assailant came to the castle from his home in Southampton, in the South of the country.
Neighbors of the family were shocked by the arrest of the young man, whom they learned from the arrival of the police at his family’s large house.
