Police have launched an investigation into the sudden deaths of three Americans at a luxury resort in the Bahamas, while another has been taken to hospital.
Incumbent Prime Minister Chester Cooper said in a statement that “no interference by third parties is suspected” although the cause of death is still unknown.
The identities of the dead and hospitalized Americans have not been released.
The incident took place at the Sandals Emerald Bay resort on the large island of Exuma in the Bahamas.
Police said two adult men and a female American were found dead in their villas on Friday. While in a bedroom police found an unconscious man on the ground.
Authorities said the victims had no signs of trauma to the body and a doctor had pronounced them dead at the scene. Authorities had reported that a couple among the victims showed signs of bodily convulsions but no concussion trauma.
A fourth American was taken to New Providence Hospital where officials said they had “some ideas” but needed further investigation to make a public statement.
