Over 1 million citizens have been vaccinated with two doses, while over 124 thousand have received the third dose of anti-Covid vaccine”.
By the end of this year, according to the minister, a total of 3 million doses of vaccines will be provided by various companies.
“A few days ago, over 100 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived, while 375 thousand doses of vaccine are expected soon, with the support of the European Union, to reach 3 million doses by the end of this year. As we expect to have the first batch of J&J vaccines from Covax.
The Albanian government has also secured a new contract with Pfizer of 1.5 million doses with the company Pfizer and we will continue to supply other vaccines.“, Said Manastirliu.
“We are also assessing the situation dynamically and in the meantime we are continuing with investments in the health sector to ensure the Winter Plan and the continuation of capacity building in terms of testing and tracking with the addition of new equipment in IPH, strengthening the Emergency National, where a new fleet of 20 ambulances will become effective within this year, enabling the increase of the response to emergencies and hospital capacities, where we make possible the start of investment in the infectious hospital, over 4 million euros to strengthen to make it a modern hospital and center of excellence of infectious diseases ”.
