36 deputies of the Democratic Party have boycotted this afternoon the meeting of the National Council convened by Sali Berisha.
Only 16 deputies have remained loyal to Berisha, participating in the meeting that focuses on the election of the chairman of the council and the resolution on the position of the DP regarding the election of the new head of state.
Agron Gjekmarkaj, Andia Ulliri, Arbri Agalliu, Bledjon Nallbati, Dashnor Sula, Dhurata Cupi, Agron Gjekmarkaj ,, Emilja Koliqi, Enkelejd, Alibeaj, Eralda Bano, Fatjon Veizaj, Ferdinant Xhaferraj, Flamur Hoxha, Gutura Bagarda, Flutura Helidon Bushati, Ilda Dhori, Jorida Tabaku, Kastriot Piroli, Xhelal Mziu, Kreshnik Collaku, Lefter Gështenja, Lindita Metaliaj, Lulzim Basha, Merita Bakiu, Orjola Pampuri, Ramadan Likaj, Saimir Korreshi, Seladin Jakupllari, Zef Hilaji, Zef Hila , Grida Duma, Tomor Alizoti and Ina Zhupa, are the deputies who left Berisha todayalthough it is worth noting that some of them did not even join Alibeaj in yesterday’s meeting.
The day before, the invitation for the meeting of the PD Parliamentary Group was joined by 22 deputies of the Democratic Party, while 30 others were not present.
The absence of the “Re-establishment” group was expected, but there were 15 other deputies who did not join the meeting, for unknown reasons.
Alibeaj after the meeting of the Parliamentary Group said that all MPs should give the criteria and qualities that should have the next president of the country, which will then be synthesized and discussed to agree on a common name, announcing meetings next Monday.
Regarding the absence of 30 deputies, he said that he does not see the group as a demonstration of numbers, emphasizing that the deputies have an obligation to the citizens who have elected them, to participate in the meeting.
The Democrats who participated yesterday were: Jorida Tabaku, Dhurata Cupi, Oriola Pampuri, Emilia Koliqi, Lindita Metaliaj, Merita Bakiu, Kastriot Piroli, Seladin Jakupllari, Sajmir Korreshi, Dashnor Sula, Zheni Gjergji, Eralda Tase Bano, Ervin Salianji, Kreshnik Collaku, Enkelejd Ali Xhaferri, Gazment Bardhi, Lefter Geshtenja, Ilda Dhori, and Andia Ulliri.
In the meeting convened by Enekejd Alibeaj, 15 deputies were absent: Grida Duma, Agron Gjekmarkaj, Flutura Acka, Ina Zhupa, Alfred Rrushaj, Kasem Mahmutaj Xhelal Mziu, Helidon Bushati, Greta Bardeli, Bledion Nallbati, Fation Veizaj, Tomor Alizoti, Zef Hila, Radamadan Lika and Lulzim Basha.
Besides them, as expected, 15 deputies of “Rithemelim” were also missing: Flamur Noka, Edi Paloka, Tritan Shehu, Albana Vokshi, Luciano Boçi, Edmond Spaho, Luan Baçi, Agron Shehaj, Sorina Koti, Oerd Bylykbashi, Isuf Cela, Bujar Leskaj, Belind Kelliçi, Sali Berisha and Elda Hoti.
Alibeaj, fired by “Rithemelimi”, said that he was not interested in their position, while his obligation is to call and listen to all deputies.
In the National Assembly held on Saturday, 35 deputies publicly left Berisha’s line.
The Democratic Party has been in an identity crisis for months, divided into two groups even after the resignation of Lulzim Basha, a moment which was expected to extinguish the tension, which did not happen.
Although divided from within, the opposition is trying to reach a consensus with the majority on the names that will run for the post of head of state.
The head of the SP Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, accepted at the conference of mayors the first part of the proposal of the leader of Alibeaj that has to do with the day when the process starts, but not with the seven-day deadline for the development of the rounds. They agreed to start the proceedings on May 10.
