Today Pietro Addis, now 19, went on trial for the murder of his grandmother during the period of isolation of the pandemic, on January 7 last year.

He studied to become a chef in Brighton, and worked in the family restaurants.
But in the months before the murder the young man had started to become addicted to cannabis smoking and the behavior started to deteriorate until he started no longer showing up for work at the family restaurant.
This had caused some fierce clashes with family members so they decided to go live with their grandmother at her luxury villa in Withdean, Brighton.
Ms. Addis was a respected figure in the Brighton business community after opening her first Donatello’s Pinocchio restaurants since the 1980s.
Her three sons Leo, Stefano and Mikele worked in well-known seaside restaurants where well-known names of British sport and showbiz often came.
