Tens of thousands of supporters of the monarchy occupied central London today to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the coming to power of the Queen of England, Elizabeth.
The 96-year-old monarch was present at the exit on the balcony of the Royal Palace “Buckingham Palace” after months of difficulties in public appearances due to age.
Today was the first day of four days of celebrations, pomp, parades and public celebrations, where on Sunday it is thought that 15 million people will organize celebrations in the streets of neighborhoods of British cities for this jubilee, in many countries around the world.
1500 soldiers and officers, 400 musicians, 250 horses and 70 military planes and helicopters took part in today’s celebrations.
Queen Elizabeth is the monarch who has broken the record of being in power than any of her predecessors in the English monarchy. Elizabeth II became Queen of England and many other countries such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand after the death of her father, King George VI, on February 6, 1952, when she was in Kenya, Africa, during an international tour.
By the time she became Queen (to understand her seven decades on the royal throne), Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong and Harry Truman were the leaders of the former Soviet Union, China and America, while Winston Churchill was Prime Minister of Britain.
The next four days are a holiday in Britain for the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne. Her reign is extraordinary in terms of the service she has rendered to the nation, but also in terms of the family problems she has had in the ranks of the royal family. Her nephew Prince Harry and his American wife, Maghan Markel, not an official member of the royal family living in Los Angeles, were present at the celebrations in London today, but were not seen in public anywhere. The kingdom is supported by eight out of ten Britons, according to the latest poll.
