Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House health chief whom US President Joe Biden praises as the “pandemic tsar” has contracted the coronavirus, according to the agencies.
The National Institutes of Health announced today that 81-year-old Fauci tested positive after a “rapid antigen test” but fortunately for the Americans “there was no contact with the president” recently, the authorities added, according to the Daily Mail.
He reportedly has only mild symptoms and will remain isolated until he tests negative, officials said.
The last time the coronavirus icon in the US was seen in public was on June 3, when he gave a speech at a graduation ceremony at New York City elite University College.
