With 10 wins, 3 draws and only two losses, Tirana closed this year 2021 at the head of Abissnet Superiore, deserving the place thanks to the game made in these 15 weeks of the championship.
In an interview for Top Channel Orges Shehi, the white and blue coach analyzes this new season of his team, starting with the evaluation so far.
Orges Shehi, coach of Tirana: The team deserves a good grade, because it has given everything on the field. There is no perfection but I would give myself and the team a grade of 8 to 9.
What has been the most important victory of these 10?
Orges Shehi, coach of Tirana: I think all victories have been important. A beautiful victory was that of Vllaznia in Shkodra. It was a match I was worried about after coming after the derby victory with Partizan. When we won it then showed that the team has mentality. While the most exciting was the last derby match.
Is this your team?
Orges Shehi / coach of Tirana: This is not our limit. We have quality element, we have the jersey that is heavy jersey, we have the best fan base instead which helps us a lot. All of this motivates us to always ask for more.
How did the Tirana market turn out?
Orges Shehi / coach of Tirana: We hit the mark, because all the players we have received or approached from the youth, are players who are making a great contribution. It has been a specificity that I have asked a lot is that players in addition to qualities have not played in their clubs due to bureaucracies or disagreements in their clubs. We have the case of Xhixha, Totres or Limaj. These players have had difficulty with paperwork or non-compliance with clubs and I thought these players having these difficulties when they come here have one more march to show.
Celhaka’s departure left a gap that you could not fill due to deadlines, while Ismajil Geci is also about to leave, while Ngo will probably be absent for a long time. Will you be intervening in the markets now in January?
Orges Shehi / coach of Tirana: To be aware and be aware that January does not give you many opportunities, I am a person who does not like to get players with video or Youtube.
Finally Shehi tells us a little secret about his communication with the players and common goals.
Orges Shehi / coach of Tirana: At the beginning of the championship I made a questionnaire to the players about the dreams they had when they were children, where they are today and where they want to be, so the dreams for the future. Everyone had the goal of winning the championship with Tirana and yes, everyone had the goal of playing abroad. These are possible goals, which keep the player at work and this is a good thing for the coach.
