Joy and emotions could not be hidden from the portrait of Edi Rama, when he arrived in Lac.
He saw the inhabitants of this city again, just like in those difficult days after the devastating earthquake, when he was told that he would take the money out of the stone to rebuild the houses, more beautiful and stronger.
There were many disbelievers, but the evening of December 28 was the moment of relief for the prime minister after the promise was kept. 522 apartments, completed, thanks to the generosity of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Turkish Ambassador to Tirana Murat Ahmet Yörük said that with the handover of these apartments we prove the partnership between Albania and Turkey.
“With the directives of President Erdogan, all our institutions were mobilized for the friendly Albanian people. In December 2020, just one year after the November earthquake, we held the opening ceremony of these apartments and flats. A year later, this giant project was completed, where 522 apartments were built at a cost of 42 million euros. “The construction time has been completed in record time and in extraordinary conditions of the global epidemic”, said the ambassador.
During a meeting with Parliament Speaker Lindita Nikolla in Ankara, President Erdogan said he would personally come to Lac in the coming weeks to see this newly built neighborhood in the city.
