Prime Minister Edi Rama this Thursday considered the publication of citizens’ salaries as an ugly event, not forgetting to call on private companies to self-regulate by January 20 or otherwise they will be punished for tax evasion.
In a press conference, Rama said that such an event can be considered “as a bad thing that does not always come for bad”, for which he said that the exposure of personal salaries is unacceptable, but today there is a significant picture in the eyes of all Albanians.
“With the salaries there has been a very ugly and disturbing event recently, but the criminal part of the event is a part that belongs to the Prosecution, which is investigating intensively. I have reason to believe that we will have results and whoever did it will be held accountable before the law. In the medium term, this event can also be called as it is said, not every evil comes only for the worse. Exposure of personal data to salaries is unacceptable, but on the other hand, today there is a significant picture in the eyes of all Albanians who have seen that picture. Let no one say we are attacking someone. We have long known wages. It is not a situation similar to those before, but it is unacceptable. No one can say we are attacking the media“, Said Rama.
The Prime Minister stressed that private companies in Albania will be required to self-regulate by January 20, as this date corresponds to the new regulations.
“All those companies that give fictitious salaries should adjust the declarations. To my knowledge, a letter has been or will be sent to taxpayers with disturbing statements that result in flagrant inconsistencies with their capacities, asking them to declare themselves by January 20th. And in case of non-regulation there will be in-depth investigation for evasion. Evasion is punishable by imprisonment “, he said.
The Prime Minister stressed, among other things, that the work with two payrolls creates a stifling situation for the system and for this reason the government has prepared a plan, as according to him no graduality can be expected and this for the reason that year after year the graduality has been chosen to regulate the system. the idea of not creating suffocating situations for the business, but that can not be expected for people who work and do not get in the white what belongs to them.
Rama considered such a thing as a sale of their will and future, as the minimum wages declared and associated with CASH money, hit the future of the individual.
“We can not continue to expect graduality because we have chosen graduality year after year to adjust the system and not to create suffocating situations for business but we can not wait for people who work and do not get what they deserve, selling their will and future, because the declared minimum wages, which are associated with CASH money, hit the future of the individual as insurance for the pension is much lower, hit the income of the pension scheme and block the opportunity to increase pensions“, He said.
The Prime Minister stressed that this process will be accompanied by a property investigation of all those companies and businessmen who declare the minimum wage or below what is actually paid.
“This will be accompanied by a new and rapid reform that also found us as an event in preparation to technically separate small business from the spaces that give those who earn a lot to behave like a small business, ie to do circus“, Said Rama.
