The former teacher who killed, dismembered and ate the body parts of a 43-year-old man he knew online has been sentenced to life in prison in Germany.
Stefan R, 42, pleaded guilty to murder and insulting the deceased. Due to the serious crime, the decision of the Berlin court is accompanied by a recommendation that makes it almost impossible to release the cannibal on parole.
Presiding Judge Matthias Sert said Stefan P. committed the crime “to realize his cannibalistic fantasy” and described it as “inhuman”.
In the thirty years of his career, the judge said that “he has never encountered such a case”. The accused remained silent while reading the decision. The gruesome event happened on September 6, 2020.
