Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, according to the BBC, has been listed in the Australian Open draw to play packages of uncertainty whether his visa will be suspended again by the Australian government.
He will defend his title against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round.
However, Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hayke is still considering using his powers to lift Djokovic’s visa, a spokesman said.
Djokovic was temporarily barred from entering last week because he was not vaccinated.
He said his infection with Covid in mid-December met the requirements for foreigners entering Australia, but authorities revoked his visa on the grounds that it was not a valid exception.
Djokovic, was held in immigration detention in Melbourne for five days as he challenged the deportation order.
On Monday a court overturned the cancellation of government visas after finding that immigration officials had not followed proper procedure.
