Roman Abramovich was poisoned with chocolate, the attack was a warning to him not to betray the Kremlin, British media write quoting Christo Grozev, Russia’s chief investigator for the investigative newspaper Bellingcat, who said the oligarch was not supposed to die from the poison allegedly pre and two Ukrainian negotiators.
“The dose was not high enough to kill any of the three, the most likely target would be Abramovich. “I mean, he volunteered to play the role of honest mediator, while other rich people simply declared a kind of independence from the Kremlin position and criticized the war,” Grozev told Times Radio.
According to him, all this may have been a warning sign. The Financial Times immediately claims that a source close to Volodymyr Zelensky told him that “people were completely blind for a few hours the next day. We have not identified the substance. “There is no idea who was behind the attack, but it seems that Roman was the main target,” he said.
Another immediately said that the substance used was certainly not Novichok, adding that they could not understand who did it – the Ukrainians or the Russians. Ukrainian officials themselves have denied the allegations.
Asked about suspicions about the poison, Ukrainian chief negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak said there is a lot of speculation and various conspiracy theories. Rustem Umerov, another member of the negotiating team, urged people not to trust unverified information as he put it. The situation seems quite confusing and full of contradictory data, as according to some foreign media, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has warned all representatives of his country not to consume anything offered at the table during the talks.
