Nottingham Forest returns to the Premier League after 23 years.
The historic English team, which twice won the Champions League in 1979, 1980, defeated Huddersfield 1-0 in the play-off final.
The duel played at “Wembley” was attended by 80,019 spectators and was decided by an own goal by Levi Colwill. The 19-year-old mistakenly deflected a ball into his own net two minutes before the end of the first half.
Nottingham managed the golden advantage and finally celebrated their return to the English football elite, where they have been absent since the 1998/99 season.
Welshman Steven Cooper’s boys become the third team to climb from the Premier League Championship after Fulham and Bournemouth.
The 157-year-old English club has won the Premier League only once (1978), as with two Champions it shares third place with Chelsea, while only Liverpool (6) and Manchester United (3) have achieved more success in the tournament of the strongest.
