3rd scandal in Fiks Fare within a few days / After Kavaja and Peshkopi, hundreds of pensioners in Lac have their pensions stolen

On June 2, 2022, the investigative show broadcast the problem of pensions in the city of Kavaja, where dozens of pensioners complain that they have not received two-month pensions, December 2021 and January 2022. A pensioner said that he and his wife did not receive these pensions , after he appropriated a former employee, who later passed away.

Meanwhile, after the broadcast of this investigation, the editorial office of Fiks Fare received several complaints from pensioners in Peshkopi, where an employee received his pension to buy a house in Tirana. Gazmir Hysi distributed pensions in the Kastriot area, but after receiving an amount of about 7 million ALL, he delayed their distribution. Even, according to the director Ilir Vranici, the employee Hysi had financial problems, after he had bought an apartment in Tirana. “He used a part of this money” admitted Mr. Vranici, but in the confrontation with the journalists he denied it!

But these scandals do not end there! The editorial office of Fiks Fare also complained about pensioners from Laçi, whose pension of August 2021 was stolen. An employee, Lindita Bushi, after receiving a certain amount, left Albania. Two retirees told Fiks Fare that they did not receive the August 2021 pension, as the employee did not give it to them.

She took them and then left. They claim that, although they have been coming to ask for months, no one has given them a solution. According to them, the police and the prosecution have started investigations but they only want the money. They claim that they have taken debts and have not washed them. A pensioner, together with his wife, had to receive 300 thousand old lek. Next, 163 thousand ALL. “We can hardly pay the bills, now they even steal them from us ?!” she says.

After these complaints, the citizens go to meet the director of the Post in Laç. The director tells them that there are dozens of pensioners in Laç who did not receive their pensions, after they were robbed. He later claims that he took the cases to the prosecutor’s office and the police, but so far there is no solution. According to him, it is about 26 million old lekë that the employee has received.

Fiks Fare journalists are interested in the same director for the cases, while he says that he referred him to the prosecutor’s office and the police. Journalists ask him when the pensions should be distributed, while he says that in the middle of August 2021. But, the citizens went to the director and told him about the problem, but the director kept the complaints for 2 weeks.

He says that he addressed the police on September 3, 2021, while when asked why he did not inform them earlier, he says that he informed them when he received all the complaints. But, these complaints need to be verified.

Journalists ask him when these citizens will receive their pensions, while he answers that he has informed the Central Post and the Branch in Lezha, where he depends, and so far there is no disbursement of funds.
