Moments of horror were experienced in central Berlin when a vehicle crashed into a group of people, causing one dead and at least 8 injured.
Police are investigating whether it was an accident or a deliberate act. The identity of the person in the vehicle still needs to be clarified. It is learned that law enforcement has detained a person, but there are no further details.
Near the corner of a central road, the vehicle quickly entered between the group of people and continued to walk in the direction of the shop windows of a shop, in front of which it stopped at the end.
The incident took place very close to the Memorial Church, where in December 2016 an Islamic assassin stormed a Christmas market with a barge. 12 people lost their lives then and 70 others were injured. In 2020, a German man raided his car on a pedestrian street in the southwestern city of Trier, killing four adults and a baby.
