After more than two years when the reconstruction of one of the most famous schools in the capital begins, today Sami Frashëri reopens the doors for the graduation ceremony of the graduates.
The latter, although they could not teach in their school building, today will create one of the most beautiful memories of graduation, that of throwing hats.
“Sami will be twice as big, 1500 students, the problem is finally solved with 2 shifts, it passes with one shift from September. We have a group graduating this year that just started teaching the earthquake fell and they had no chance. “Today we have a gentle opening using only the gym for the graduate of this generation.” said Erion Veliaj.
With a completely new look, the “Sami Frashëri” gymnasium will officially open its doors for teaching in September.
“The school is twice as big, has a basement, 6 laboratories, an auditorium, an Olympic-sized gym, a gymnasium with solar panels, is made of wood and metal and resembles a Scandinavian school.” said Veliaj.
The reconstruction of “Sami Frashëri” turned into a politicized issue after the debates that sparked between the municipality of Tirana and the opposition.
“Today the school that has produced half of the Albanian government, leader of the opposition from Lul Basha to Ilir Meta. It should be the school that unites and not the school that divides. “The image of September should be the image of a school that unites all generations, both left and right, a school that has given so much to the country can not be a booty to be divided politically.” he further added.
In the last 7 years, 50-60 schools have been added to Tirana, where on average there are 5-6 new schools in each unit of the capital.
