The historical leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during his speech in the National Assembly, made strong accusations against the US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim.
Berisha has implied that Albania has lost its sovereignty under the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama and that the US is in control of state decisions.
He compared the American ambassador with the Soviet ones during the time of leadership by Enver Hoxha.
“The ambassador should behave like a governor, like the Soviet ambassador in Tirana”, said Berisha.

Delegates will also vote on the dismissal of the four vice-presidents.
They will have the opportunity to answer for or against his dismissal, as on the ballot paper will be the question: Do you agree with the dismissal of Lulzim Basha as chairman of the DP? Yes No
On March 22, the National Assembly of the Democratic Party will convene again to elect the new structures of the Democratic Party. Until election day, the party is led by an ad hoc commission of 29 members.
