A new section has been added to the application of the “Digital Commissariat” to denounce different types of environmental crimes.
During a joint meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, head of the State Police and IKMT, Minister Çuçi said that from September 1, 2021 until today, there are over 40,000 denunciations and among them, a total of 276 are related to environmental crimes.
“This number testifies to the validity and efficiency of this very important and pioneering innovation in our country and region. To better orient the public, we have added 5 specific sections in the relevant menu for the environment. In the button “Environmental Crime” all users of the application will be able to find listed the types of environmental crime such as: water pollution; soil pollution; illegal dumping of waste; inert pollution and acoustic pollution “, said Minister Çuçi.
According to the minister, this change will create the necessary facilities for the public, as a new channel from where you can denounce environmental crime, even from the conditions of complete anonymity.
We believe that public safety is not only the task of the State Police or relevant law agencies, but a joint effort of the whole society, to close any space to irresponsible individuals or with criminal tendencies. “Digital Commissariat”, with the changes and updates made, is a very powerful tool in the hands of the public, to denounce any crime in the environment, against the environment, after all, against our lives as citizens of this country “, declared the Minister of Interior.
Albania is expected to enter a new phase in terms of territorial control. The modernization of the State Police with investments in technology, the use of super-intelligent drones and satellite service, are expected to qualitatively increase the efficiency of work to prevent environmental crimes, illegal constructions and any other illegalities in the territory.
