The services of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat, after receiving the notification that in the village of Gjat, Lunxhëri, there were gunshots, immediately organized the work and in cooperation with the structures of DVP Gjirokastra, went to the scene.
As a result of intensive and professional actions, based on the information received through the police, it became possible to identify, apprehend and arrest in flagrante delicto the citizen P. Dh., 17 years old, resident in the village of Gjat, Gjirokastra.
This citizen is suspected to have shot in the air with an automatic firearm in the village of Gjat, Lunxhëri, yesterday evening.
After being shot, the 17-year-old hid the firearm and left, but was caught within a few hours by the Police services. Also, the Police found and seized as material evidence the firearm, with which it is suspected that this citizen shot in the air, as well as two combs.
From the control exercised in the apartment of the arrested citizen, a sports weapon was found, which this citizen had at his disposal without the relevant permit.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Gjirokastra Judicial District Court, for further actions, for the criminal offenses “Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, “Illegal production and possession of hunting and sports weapons” and “Demolition” of public peace ”.
