The Montenegrin government is on the brink, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic does not deny it, but according to him, there are chances that it will not reach its collapse.
Anyone who wants to overthrow the government wants to distance Montenegro from the European Union, Abazovic declared, after attending the meeting of the leaders of the parties that support and participate in the executive power.
Asked if the survival of the executive power is in question, he said that “we may have started with that scenario”.
“This morning DPS and SDP have not said that they will overthrow the Government, everyone is of the opinion that the Government should be preserved. There was also a proposal to talk more, I don’t consider it a bad intention”, is the comment of the Montenegrin Prime Minister. “The government may fall, but then its European dream will also fall.” he added.
The leaders of the ruling parties met today at the prime minister’s office where they discussed the Basic Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church and the delicate situation of the executive.
“If someone wants to destabilize Montenegro and who benefits, let the citizens judge, it is not in the interest of the citizens. The prime minister and the government will not encourage that kind of destabilization,” Abazovic said.
“Vijesti” said earlier that President Milo Djukanovic, once the leader of the DPS, has invited Abazovic to a meeting together with the head of the SDP, Rashko Konjevic, as well as representatives of the minority parties, in the hope of seeing the possibility of bypassing to cramp.
