The Albanian government has adopted two decisions related to the Western Balkans region.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers today, the agreement was approved in principle for the implementation of electronic identification of Western Balkan citizens in customs, as well as for free access to the labor market in this region.
This decision comes three days before the next meeting of this initiative, which will be held in Tirana on December 20 and 21.
DECISION ON THE APPROVAL, IN PRINCIPLE OF THE AGREEMENT, ON THE INTERNET CONNECTION SCHEMES FOR THE ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION OF THE WESTERN BALKANS CITIZENS
Pursuant to Article 100 of the Constitution and Article 10 of Law no. 43/2016, “On international agreements in the Republic of Albania”, on the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Finance and Economy, the Council of Ministers
VENDOSI:
Approval, in principle, of the agreement on the interconnection of schemes for electronic identification of citizens of the Western Balkans, according to the text attached to this decision.
This decision enters into force immediately.
