He is fighting for his life in the hospital, while the mortuary doors have been opened in the family of his neighbor Klisman Preçi. The 28-year-old could not survive the wounds received in the assassination attempt and died in the hospital.
This was also the second assassination for him. In May of this year, while he was traveling with his cousin Blerim Precin, unidentified persons shot at him, but the vehicle left the road and he escaped unhurt.
The assassination took place around 21:00 in the center of Milot, near the target’s apartment in the eyes of many witnesses and under the surveillance cameras.
The suspected assassins were three people, one in the role of driver and two assassins with Kalashnikovs. They drove an Audi type vehicle with Romanian license plates and tracked their targets to the grounds of the palace and fired at them as soon as they got out of the vehicle.
The bombers were masked with spacesuits on their heads and black clothing.
They blocked the parking lot road with their vehicle and approached the armored vehicle on foot, leaving Ylli Brahimaj and Klisman Peçi no chance to react.
The police arrived in the area when everything was over and the injured had been sent to the hospital by their relatives.
The police suspect that the killing of the 28-year-old and the wounding of Ylli Brahimaj is related to Sunday’s assassination at the Fushë-Kruja overpass, where Brilant Martinaj, Dikler Vata and Besmir Hoxha were victims.
The suspicions are related to the friendship that the victims have with the wanted Ervis Martinaj.
The method chosen by the assassins is also similar. Masked perpetrators shoot Kalashnikovs with dozens of bullets and then abandon the weapons and the vehicle under fire and leave in an unknown direction.
Investigations are also being conducted into the criminal past of the 46-year-old abroad, as well as any conflicts that have started in recent days.
