Bajram Begaj: I would like to thank President Meta for the fulfillment of the task, the communication we had during the time we had when I held the office and when he transferred the office. Today is a special day for me. Without a doubt, it is the most important day of my life. I am before you and I address you with the greatest honor and privilege, that of the president of the Republic.
This belief burdens me with the greatest responsibility to the citizens of my nation, to the partners of Albania and to the friends of my family, today I swore loyalty to the constitution, to protect the independence of Albania and to serve the progress of the Albanian people. I will be a servant of my people, a representative of national unity. I will be a steadfast supporter of the Euro-Atlantic journey for all Albanians of Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and the Presheva Valley.
So I am a contributor and supporter of communication and cooperation. Guaranteeing the implementation of the constitution means guaranteeing the law also for the fight against organized crime. Today, more than ever, unity and cooperation of the political classes is required.
The reform in justice is bearing its fruits. I express my gratitude for the unsparing help of our partners. Our friends in Albania and Albanians will always find their trusted partner. Holding the first intergovernmental conference is a big step, a well-deserved achievement for all Albanians. Albania, although small, proudly proves that even small nations produce security in the international arena. This fact is evidenced by Albania’s role in the Security Council, but also by its stance on the war in Ukraine. Security and peace are not given but they are ensured. Risk factors have changed. The issue of national security will be a major focus during my term. Let’s change the national strategy. It is a responsibility for all of us.
