The Court of Appeals has upheld the decision of the first instance with 8 years in prison for the citizen Alfred Kazanxhi, who on April 24 barbarically mistreated the three-year-old son of the cohabitant with whom he had known for 1 year.
The Tirana District Court initially found him guilty of committing the criminal offense of “Ill-treatment of a minor”, finally sentencing him to 8 years in prison, after benefiting from a 1/3 reduction of the sentence.
Following the first instance decision, the 35-year-old appealed the case to the Court of Appeals, requesting a change in the decision by changing the criminal offense from “Juvenile Abuse” to that of “Juvenile Abandonment”.
At the end of the trial, the Appeal decided to uphold the decision of the first instance.
The macabre event was recorded in Kamza, while the 3-year-old was taken to the Trauma Hospital on April 24 at 12.00 by her mother and her cohabitant. Doctors stated that the baby’s condition was very serious and that the child had come with signs of violence and fractures all over the body.

For two months, A. Hoxha and his cohabitant Alfred Kazanxhi lived in a rented apartment in the neighborhood “Blue Boulevard” in Kamza, while earlier they had lived in the area of ”Ali Demi” in Tirana.
