The first formalization of this summer market is coming to Barcelona. The Catalan club has announced the signing of Franck Kessié, who left Milan at the end of the season as a free agent.
The midfielder from the Ivory Coast will be tied to the “Blaugrana” colors until 2026 and has a release clause of 500 million euros.
The African footballer, who turns 26 on December 19, has played for “Djallin” in the last five seasons, ending his experience as a red and black with the Serie A title, which Milan had been missing for 11 years.
The president of Barça, Joan Laporta, announced last Saturday that Kessié will be presented this Wednesday at “Ciutat Esportiva”.
Barça had been following Kessié closely before the arrival of Xavi Hernández. Barcelona chiefs, aware of economic difficulties, insisted on Kessié and Andreas Christensen, with the latter set to be unveiled on Thursday.
According to SuperSport Franck Kessié will be the second Ivorian player in Barca’s history after Yaya Touré (2007-10). The African has scored 37 goals in 223 matches for Milan.
