Kosovo is not expected to escape the Omicron variant of COVID-19 which has put many countries in the world in trouble.

Precisely for Krasniqi, these are the reasons why the same measures against COVID-19 are being maintained.
“It’s the same virus and what we’ve seen is that every variant presented in other countries is that sometimes or later it has reached almost all countries. The possibility of the appearance of Omicron in Kosovo is normally evident and it is difficult to imagine that there will be no cases in Kosovo as I am saying that the virus is the same and the ways of spread are the same “, said Krasniqi for KosovaPress.
He says that in Kosovo there is a calm pandemic situation, where only during this month the number of hospitalized has not exceeded 50 patients.
“There are weeks, even months, that is small and we are experiencing an extremely favorable pandemic situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the number of patients admitted to UCCK Clinics and hospitals has dropped significantly for more than two months, the number of patients is below 100, and even this last month we have never exceeded 50 patients who have been hospitalized. UCCK clinics and general hospitals. But of course this situation is a result of the measures taken by the government and health institutions and in particular I want to emphasize here the respect and implementation of the measures by the citizens “, he said.
Already in our country is given a booster dose and the third against COVID-19 for people over 18 years, therefore the director of HUCSK considers the right moment for citizens to be immunized with these doses of vaccines.
“It’s the best time to use it, we are already entering the winter season, the need to take the third dose and the boosting dose is getting stronger, now people are starting to be locked up indoors, in groups, whether family or even more where the risk of exposure is greater therefore, I say I take advantage of this calm situation in order to continue to maintain this collective immunity that has been formed either with the passage of COVID-19 or with the establishment of immunity as a result of vaccination ”, said Krasniqi.
Krasniqi hopes that the Law on Wages will be adopted as soon as possible, because as he said, this law is the main pillar for regulating the salaries of health professionals and treating them in a dignified manner.
He said that doctors and nurses should not be treated as heroes only in pandemic situations, but they need treatment and a decent salary at all times.
“The Law on Wages is vital if I can say about the functioning of the health system in Kosovo, normally it is not the only one because there is a lot of other work to be done, but it would be one of the main pillars where it would regulate the issue. of salaries of health professionals and with this law I believe that there would be a peace of mind of health workers in terms of evaluation. We do not need to be valued as heroes only in pandemic situations or in certain situations, but we need a decent salary and I am very much hoping that the Wage Law will move at a faster pace“, He stressed.
The Wages Act has also been the cause of two strikes that health professionals have staged in recent weeks. Although the Federation of Health Trade Unions of Kosovo (FSSHK) had announced a strike on December 21, yesterday they announced that they have temporarily suspended strikes for the needs of patients at this time when the country is facing seasonal flu.
