Former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha has expressed criticism of the draft resolution created in support of Ukraine that is expected to be approved today in the Assembly.
According to him, it was created as if Albania was part of Oceania and not a European country, while it is a strategic point in Europe and the Balkans.
According to Berisha, the Adriatic and the Dardanelles could be one of the goals of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to shorten the path with other countries.
“This aggression is not just against a country like Ukraine. It is an aggression against any free country. I do not see in the resolution you presented today this dangerous world dimension to Ukraine. Not only have all the international charters been violated, the Budapest agreement, where Russia guaranteed the borders of this country. The resolution is written as if we were an Oceanic country ruled in autocracy and not a country of Europe. I think that this new dimension of development should express in clearer terms this global contribution to the resistance of Ukraine and Zelensk. “The Adriatic and the Dardanelles in those madnesses are vital to shorten the road.”said Berisha.
This Monday’s plenary session in the Assembly is dedicated to the draft resolution in support of Ukraine, while all deputies have placed ribbons in the colors of the blue and yellow flags.
The Ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shkurov, is present this Monday at the plenary session of the Assembly.
Below is the agreed variant of Draft Resolution “ON SUPPORTING THE SOVEREIGNTY AND TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF UKRAINE AND THE PROTECTION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND EUROPEAN SECURITY” between the four parliamentary groups expected to be approved today.
