Minister Bledi Çuçi’s mother reacted after Sali Berisha’s statement that her son was arrested in Italy for drug smuggling.
With great concern and very indignation I want to deny all the untrue and ugly accusations which have appeared in the media and which are directed against me personally and my son Endi Çuçi.
From the outset I want to make it clear that neither I nor my son have any problems with Italian justice despite the occasional mention in an Italian justice investigation that has nothing to do with us. This is very clearly stated in the investigation file that you have attached and I am quoting:
… “In reviewing the facts related to the paragraph in question, we indicate from the beginning that the elements available to us currently prevent us from determining any action of criminal significance, against some of the persons mentioned (SOTIRI ROMEO , PETO ZHAKLINA, XHABAFTI SOKOL and CUCI ENDI), as there is no element from the investigation acts to leave room for accusations in the future ”…
I was in Italy to care for my ailing mother during 2021, who sadly passed away on May 3, 2021 in Italy. On May 4, 2021 my son came to Italy and together we returned to Albania to pay our last respects to the mother.
No one has the right to lynch and publicly punish us for purely political purposes. I’m just asking you not to throw mud at my son, a young graduate who is just starting out in life and unlike what is slandered by the digital well, has been working since September 2021 for EPO in Munich, Germany (The European Patent Office – European Trademark and Patent Office). Thank you!
