Investigators have managed to find the black box of the Chinese plane, which crashed two days ago, taking the lives of 132 people on board.
The plane crashed in eastern China on Monday as Liu Lusong, a spokesman for China’s aviation authority, told reporters that the flight recorder from China Eastern MU5735 was found today.
The head of aviation security revealed that “the flight pilots did not respond to numerous calls from air traffic controllers”, after the plane collided fatally with a mountain slope.
All on board were pronounced dead while rescue workers speculated that after the collision, the fire ‘completely burned’ the passengers and their belongings, before causing damage to the surrounding forest.
“An air traffic controller tried to contact the pilots several times after seeing the altitude of the plane fall sharply, but received no response,” said Zhu Tao, director of the Aviation Security Bureau at the China Civil Aviation Authority.
