US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tested positive for COVID this Wednesday, according to DASH.
“The secretary is fully vaccinated against the virus and is going through only mild symptoms“, Said the department in a statement.
Blinken has not personally met with President Joe Biden for several days and Biden is not considered to be in close contact with him.
Spokesman Ned Price said Blinken would not deliver the speech scheduled for Thursday.
“He is looking forward to returning to the Department and resuming his full duties and travels as soon as possible.”is included in the statement.
Blinken was among the guests who walked into a hotel in Washington on Saturday night for the White House Correspondents Association’s annual dinner.
