Photographer Roland Tasho has a photographic fund (about 500) photos from which were selected by the working group about 100 slide and digital photos, which have created the ALBUM “KADARE AND GJIROKASTRA”
In order to realize this publication, a preparatory work has been created to conceive and conceive the realization of a unique photo album for Ismail Kadare in Gjirokastra.
In 2000 the writer Ismail Kadare returned to his homeland for the first time since the 1990s, where he lived for a decade in France.
On his first visit he traveled to Gjirokastra. In all the activities organized on this occasion as well as in all the places he has visited, the extraordinary reception given to Kadare by the people of Gjirokastra has been photographed exclusively by the photographer Roland Tasho.
Exclusively for this publication, there are unique photos of the city of Gjirokastra, the house of the writer Ismail Kadare, which fix in the historical memory details of the place where the writer was born and raised.
The best photos have been identified and found which have been stored in the photographer’s personal archive since the 2000s.
A working group has conceived and conceived the content of the album accompanied by textual content and explanatory captions of the photos as well as fragments of his work.
Photographic materials are selected, their order according to time periods and which of them are suitable for publication. Also, the technical preparation of the photos in the films, their scanning and processing suitable for publication has been realized. The album is also accompanied by an introduction that directs the reader to the content.
