Russia is using Serbia and President Vladimir Putin will get rid of Aleksandar Vucic when he is no longer obedient to him.
This was stated by the expert on Balkan issues, Janusz Bugajski in the show “Voyage”, adding that Russia has always been interested in the Western Balkans.
“I would say that Russia is using Serbia, they are also using each other as well [Sllobodan] Milosevic and [Boris] Yeltsin in the 90s. [Vladimir] Putin and [Aleksandar] Vuiqiiq are using each other to choose their influence, and in the case of Serbia they are trying to create a mini-Serbian world, similar to the ‘Russian Mirror’ [Paqja Ruse], beyond ‘Srpski Svet’ [Bota Serbe] “which is an equation for Serbs in the Balkans,” Bugajski said.
“Kosovo is also part of this draw, where the only problem for Vucic is that Putin is much more powerful than he is. “Putin is the one who will use Vucic more for such benefits and will get rid of him when he is no longer useful to him,” he added.
He stressed that at this time, Russia is engaged in the policies of imperialism.
“Russia has always been interested in the Western Balkans. The Balkans are strategically important because they give access to other parts of Europe and form different alliances. Russia can use these against other powers in Europe, and at this time Russia is engaged in the policies of imperialism, using the Balkans to expand its power, to limit the enlargement of NATO, the EU and “At the same time it creates problems for the United States, potentially as a distraction from what it is doing in Ukraine.”
Analyst Bugajski added that the current situation in the Balkans is ideal for the Kremlin.
“For Russia this is an ideal situation, so the scenario was to be for Serbia a close but dominated ally, which controls most of the Western Balkans and other countries to be neutralized. “These countries that are part of NATO should not oppose Russia’s policies and be very dependent and neutralize Serbian influence, so this is the ideal situation for the Kremlin,” Bugajski concluded.
In this show, he also spoke about the relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic./kosovapress
