Despite the situation created by bird flu in some areas of the country, farmers continue to trade chickens in the market without a certificate.
Although no outbreaks of the disease have been identified in Elbasan, by order of the Ministry of Agriculture, the sale of poultry unaccompanied by a veterinarian certificate is not allowed.
Farmers say their poultry are controlled as they grow naturally, but they call on structures to exercise control over poultry which bring chickens to market at very low prices because of the quality that makes them almost inedible.
