Rescue teams were unable to evacuate the stranded civilians nor send aid to Izym, as the area is controlled by Russia.
““Ukrainian authorities can not evacuate the stranded residents of the Russian-controlled eastern city of Izyum or send humanitarian aid there.”said the regional governor of Kharkiv, Oleh Sinegubov.
A day earlier, Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko claimed 93 victims killed by Russian forces in Izym.
They were killed while trying to leave the besieged city.
Izym is an area which lies on a main road with the Donbas, while its inhabitants have remained stranded for weeks.
