The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj planted a tree today with students of the school “Emin Duraku”, where he took care to give some details regarding the preparations for the grand final of the Conference League.
He said that the Tirana Amphitheater and the pedestrian area ‘Murat Toptani’ will return to the Fan Zone for the fans of Rome and Feyenoord, so that even those who could not get a ticket, can enjoy the match with the same atmosphere as in the stadium. .
“This week we expect from 50 to 100 thousand fans, who will probably come without tickets, just for the atmosphere. We have prepared the Lake Amphitheater, where the Rome fans will be placed, who will watch the match through the big screens, if they do not have tickets. We will do the same with the Feyenoord fans, who come from Rotterdam, to the pedestrian street of Tirana. Wednesday will be a car-free day, a day off for schools as well. “This is also a way to tell the city that we should reduce the use of the car a little bit”, announced Veliaj.
Meanwhile, the mayor thanked the students who joined the initiative to plant trees. “Adults probably guess, they are politicized, divided in camps, while children, both in the toy corner, in the Square, as in the Days without Cars, are the first because they embrace the beautiful, the valuable thing. Children today have been given an example of who works and leaves a mark on the city, who deals with logs and curses the darkness, has no chance of turning on a little light. “If we continue at this pace, not only this year that Tirana is the” European Capital of Youth “, but every other year, it means that we have the best ahead and we have it in our hands,” said the mayor.
