US actor Sean Penn was attending a press conference of the Ukrainian government from the front row today as he arrived in Kiev to shoot a documentary on the escalating conflict.
Penn was seen in the sunglasses hall following event updates, as he had previously witnessed dramatic developments such as in the Mexican cartel fire line in 2016 when he contacted the fugitive gang leader, El Chapo.
Penn has reportedly been to Ukraine several times in recent months, while returning this week.
The media said he “did not seem to be in a hurry to leave.”
The Ukrainian government said in a post that it was grateful for his presence, calling him “much more courageous than Western leaders.”
Oscar winner Sean Penn has said he has come to Kiev to record and tell the truth about what is happening in the country.
The Kiev government said: “Sean Penn is in Ukraine today, and among those who support Ukraine. “Our country is grateful for such a show of courage and sincerity.”
This morning Penn attended the daily press conference of Secretary of State Mikhail Podolâk and Ukrainian Minister for the Occupied Territories Irina Vere ukуuk.
Earlier in the week he was seen having dinner with local journalists in Kiev, at a time when thousands of people are trying to flee the terrified country to Poland or Romania.
